Our business scope: sales and renting of heavy trucks, light trucks, coaches, mine vehicles, special vehicles, engineering machinery (such as wheel loader, hoister, excavator, etc.); TBR tyres, spare parts sales; vehicle maintenance service.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: In-house Clearance Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The In-House Clearance Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating all import and export clearance processes for the company.
  • The role ensures timely, compliant, and cost-effective clearance of goods through customs while maintaining accurate documentation and liaising with relevant regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end clearing and forwarding processes for all company shipments (import & export).
  • Prepare, review, and process all necessary shipping and clearance documentation (Form M, PAAR, Bill of Lading, invoices, packing lists, etc.).
  • Liaise with customs officials, shipping companies, terminal operators, and other regulatory agencies to ensure smooth clearance of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian Customs Service regulations and other applicable laws.
  • Track shipments and provide regular updates to management on clearance status.
  • Resolve any issues, delays, or discrepancies related to shipment clearance.
  • Monitor and manage clearance costs to ensure efficiency and cost control.
  • Maintain proper records of all transactions and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (procurement, finance, operations) for smooth workflow.
  • Ensure prompt delivery of cleared goods to the designated warehouse or site.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in clearing and forwarding operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian port operations and customs procedures.
  • Familiarity with import documentation systems (e.g., PAAR processing, Form M).
  • Good understanding of shipping and freight forwarding processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
