Location: Makoko Area, Lagos

Job Description

  • A foremost manufacturing and printing press company in the Makoko area of Lagos State is seeking a disciplined, safety-conscious, and highly dependable Executive Driver to support its daily transportation and logistics operations.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely movement of company executives, staff, clients, and materials, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, discretion, and vehicle maintenance.
  • This role requires early resumption and occasional weekend duties based on operational needs. Proximity to Makoko and its surrounding areas will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport company executives, staff, clients, and materials to designated locations in a timely manner.
  • Ensure strict compliance with road safety regulations, Lagos traffic laws, and company driving policies at all times.
  • Assist with loading and offloading of goods, documents, and materials, ensuring proper handling and care.
  • Plan routes efficiently and adjust movements to avoid traffic congestion, roadblocks, and delays.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of trips, including destinations, mileage, and purpose of travel.
  • Carry out routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, including checks on fuel, tyres, brakes, and general cleanliness.
  • Ensure assigned vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and always in good working condition.
  • Execute assigned logistics duties involving the movement of materials and personnel as required.
  • Park vehicles only in safe and authorized locations to prevent damage or penalties.
  • Promptly report any accidents, damages, or traffic violations to management.
  • Ensure all vehicle documents such as licence, insurance, and permits are valid and up to date.
  • Coordinate routine servicing and maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with company executives and clients.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Valid Nigerian Driver’s Licence and LASDRI certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 4 years professional driving experience, preferably within a corporate or industrial environment.
  • Clean driving record with no history of reckless driving or major violations.
  • Strong knowledge of Lagos roads, especially the Makoko axis, including all connecting routes and the ability to identify and use faster alternative routes when necessary.
  • Excellent familiarity with traffic patterns and the ability to navigate efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to use GPS navigation tools and basic vehicle manuals.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling long hours of driving when required.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions effectively.
  • High level of punctuality, integrity, discipline, and reliability.
  • Neat appearance and professional conduct at all times.
