Job Description
The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board was first established by Kaduna State Government via edict No. 7 of 1978. The same edict was modified and adapted under CAP 63 of the laws of Katsina State of Nigeria. In 1993, the Board was merged with the State Ministry of Health through an Executive order. However, it was reactivated on 30th March, 1998 operate autonomously, with a Governing Board under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The Board has under control all staff at the Headquarters, State Medical store, Government House Clinic, Psychiatric Hospital as well as all those working at the 18 General Hospital in the Katsina, Daura, Funtua, Malumdfashi, Mani, Kankia, Dutsinma, Batsari, Baure, Babbaruga, Rimi, Ingawa, Musawa, Kankara and Danmusa.

Job Description
- The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing routine radiographic examinations to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment within KTHSMB healthcare facilities.
- The role involves operating X-ray equipment, preparing patients for procedures, ensuring radiation safety compliance, and maintaining accurate imaging records.
- The technician will work under the supervision of a Radiographer or medical officer to deliver efficient and high-quality imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine X-ray imaging procedures as directed
- Prepare and position patients for radiographic examinations
- Operate X-ray machines and related imaging equipment
- Ensure adherence to radiation protection and safety guidelines
- Assist in processing and reviewing radiographic images
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Report equipment faults and assist with basic maintenance
- Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of imaging rooms
- Support radiographers and medical staff during procedures
- Provide clear instructions to patients before and after imaging
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in X-Ray Technology or related field
- Basic knowledge of radiographic procedures
- Understanding of radiation safety practices
- Good communication and patient care skills
- Relevant experience.
