Job Description

Rhema University Nigeria is a private Christian University approved and licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, based in the city of Aba, Abia State, founded by the Living Word Ministries in the year 2009, and started activities in 2010. The philosophy of the university is hinged on a philosophical dictum that “Knowledge is Power” and to achieve the above philosophy, the university will pursue the highest standards of teaching, research, and community service while at the same time providing a balanced education for the acquisition of knowledge, entrepreneurial skills, and moral principles.

Job Title: Substantive University Librarian

Location: Aba, Abia

Description

  • The University Librarian is the Chief Library Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the University Library.

The Person

  • The applicant must have a considerable level of competence and demonstrate integrity in running a University Library.
  • The applicant must be knowledgeable in the management of an ICT driven library. Such a person must be in good health to be able to endure the rigours of the duties of a University Librarian.
  • The Applicant must possess the ability to advise the Vice-Chancellor in planning and executing strategies for maintaining facilities and promoting healthy library culture among students.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a good University degree and Master in Library Studies or Post graduate Diploma in librarianship plus at least fifteen (15) years’ experience in librarianship cadre.
  • Possession of a Ph.D. will be an advantage.

Tenure and Conditions of Service

  • The appointment is for a term of five (5) years and may be renewed for another term of five years.
