Job Description
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Lubricant Accountant to manage inventory accounting and control across our locations.
- The ideal candidate will ensure accurate stock reporting, cost tracking, and alignment between physical inventory and ERP records to support operational efficiency and sound financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of bulk and packed lubricant inventory across all locations.
- Record and reconcile all stock movements including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
- Perform daily reconciliation between physical stock and ERP balances, resolving variances promptly.
- Manage inventory by SKU, grade, batch, and pack size, including monitoring slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Verify all goods receipt and dispatch documentation for accuracy.
- Post all inventory transactions in the ERP system and maintain data integrity.
- Ensure inventory valuation aligns with FIFO principles and track associated costs.
- Monitor product margins and support pricing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate periodic stock counts and prepare variance reports.
- Monitor and control stock losses, ensuring compliance with approved thresholds.
- Prepare regular inventory and performance reports.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Production teams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audit processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or FMCG
- Strong experience in inventory accounting and reconciliation
- Knowledge of product costing and margin analysis
- Experience working with ERP systems
- A professional qualification (ACA/ACCA) is an added advantage
- Cost accounting experience is an added advantage.
