Job Title: Junior Accountant

About the Role
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Junior Accountant to support the maintenance of accurate financial records, preparation of financial reports, and adherence to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- The ideal candidate should possess at least 1 year of relevant experience in accounting and finance, asset management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in line with company policies
- Perform bank and account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and preparation of payment remittance advice.
- Support VAT and Withholding Tax (WHT) computations and filings in compliance with Nigerian tax laws
- Post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
- Manage relevant accounting schedules and fixed asset register
- Participate in all inventory count exercises
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor actual performance against budgets
- Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes and support internal/external audits
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Use accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Excel for financial data management
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSc/HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
- NYSC discharge certificate (mandatory)
- ICAN certification or in progress is an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations (VAT, WHT, PAYE)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication and organizational skills.
