We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Forklift Operator

Location: Gbagada, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • JMG is seeking a reliable and skilled Forklift Operator to join our operations team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and organize materials safely and efficiently.
  • This role plays a key part in supporting smooth warehouse operations and maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Forklift Operation:

  • Operate forklift equipment to move materials within the warehouse or production area.
  • Load and unload trucks,and containers safely and efficiently.
  • Stack, organize, and store materials in designated locations.

Warehouse & Inventory Support:

  • Support daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and ensure materials are correctly labeled and recorded.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate stock levels and reporting any discrepancies.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform daily safety checks and routine maintenance on the forklift.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or near miss incidents immediately.
  • Ensure proper handling of hazardous or fragile materials where applicable.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Complete required records such as delivery notes, material movement logs, and inventory forms.

Qualifications
Education

  • Minimum of SSCE / High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional technical or vocational certification is an advantage.

Experience:

  • 2–4 years proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar warehouse/production role.
  • Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, logistics, industrial services, or FMCG environments is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Valid Forklift Operator
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and material handling.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle physical tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.
