Job Title: Corporate Lawyer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Description

  • We are seeking to recruit an experienced Corporate Lawyer to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will provide legal counsel on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, and business transactions.
  • He will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s interests while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on corporate matters, business structures, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the company’s interests.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support with specific projects.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, arbitrations, and negotiations.
  • Advise on intellectual property rights, data protection laws, and employment law as applicable.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and industry regulations to mitigate legal risks.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, including finance, human resources, and operations, to provide comprehensivelegal support.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and government agencies as necessary.
  • Assist in developing corporate policies, governance frameworks, and risk management strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare reports, memos, and opinions on various corporate legal matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and admission to the Bar with a specialization in Corporate Law.
  • Additional areas of expertise are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a corporate lawyer, preferably in a corporate environment with a minimum of 7 years experience
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Google Office Suite.

Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 monthly.
