We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Commercial Manager (EPC Business)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Key Responsibilities
Strategic:

  • Coordinates ALL Project Planning and Design Activities and Functions under supervision
  • Having strong focus on the economics and profitability of production or the services rendered by the entire department
  • Responsible for deploying assigned and co – opted projects within agreed budget and deadlines
  • Functional in the management of the end – to – end process of entire business unit
  • Recommend polices and standards that are aimed at ensuring optimal utilization of the company/departmental resources for the overall achievement of the company’s set objectives; long-term and periodic.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all purchasing functions and commitments of the company.

Operational:

  • Coordinate the Commercial Transactions of the company covering all projects and relating to the following;
    • Projects Tendering
    • iContracts, Claims and Projects Risk Management, and,
    • Invoicing and Certifications of Project Milestones
  • Analyze all RFQ, RFT and RFB, consulting with the Technical Department for specifications and designs and recommend for interests quotes with proper pricing
  • Participate in Techno-commercial discussions with Customer along with Project Acquisition for finalizing the contract.
  • Coordinate the preparation of contract reviews and participate in all Project Launch ensuring
  • Supervise the adequacy and completeness of all Projects Contracts, the accuracy and timeliness of all invoices and the effectively negotiated claims due the company noting any retentions or applications for payment.
  • Support marketing activities, including trade/ scientific shows, mailings, etc.
  • Work with the business development/client management teams. including identification of potential clients, development of client relationships, and preparation of successful proposals.
  • Prepares tenders either internally or by coordinating with engineering or others relevant to the job performance
  • Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand projects in the Gas & Power market (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development).
  • Assess within the team the tools, methods and competencies and propose all necessary improvements and changes.
  • Control reliability of the quotations (prices, contractual conditions and gross margin)
  • Assist the Contracts Manager in ensuring all sales orders are managed effectively and efficiently at all times; including any sales orders being directly managed by the Commercial Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical Preferably).
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Project Management, MSc Finance, or related field) is an added advantage.
  • 8–12+ years’ progressive experience in commercial management within EPC, construction, Oil & Gas, power, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong expertise in tendering, bid governance, cost estimation, contract administration, claims management, change orders, and risk assessment.
  • Proven track record managing commercial aspects of large EPC projects and negotiating major contracts (FIDIC, NEC, or bespoke EPC agreements).
  • Professional certifications such as RICS, PMP, PRINCE2, APMP, CIPS, or Engineering Registration (COREN/NSE) are highly desirable.
  • Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial risk analysis capability.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced EPC environment.

Salary
N2,500,000 – N3,000,000 monthly.
