Job Description

Sunplast is a leading plastic manufacturing company in Nigeria with almost 30 years experience in the plastic manufacturing industry. Sun Group entered into the Plastics industry through the acquisition of a plant in Sango Ota, Ogun State in 1991. A second plant was installed and commissioned in 2000 in Lagos. In 2015 both plants were merged under one roof in Ogun State. The plants, which operate under the names Bright Products Limited and Sunplast Industries Limited, are equipped with top-of-the-line injection molding machines from China, India and Taiwan.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior IT Administrator

Location: Ota, Ogun

About the Role

  • Sunplast Industries Limited is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior IT Administrator to join our team.
  • This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure while driving key technology initiatives across the organization.
  • The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong hands-on technical expertise, playing a vital role in supporting business operations and leading IT improvements.

Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage and maintain servers, networks, and end-user systems
  • Ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of IT systems
  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring processes

Network & Security Administration:

  • Design and manage LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi infrastructure
  • Configure firewalls, VPNs, and security systems
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices

Project Implementation:

  • Lead IT projects (ERP upgrades, system implementations, infrastructure rollouts)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and external vendors
  • Deliver projects on time and aligned with business goals

Technical Support Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor Level 1 IT support staff
  • Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues
  • Establish support processes, SLAs, and knowledge-sharing practices

Systems & Application Support:

  • Support enterprise applications (ERP systems, reporting tools such as Tableau)
  • Work with business teams to deliver effective IT solutions
  • Ensure data integrity and system performance

Documentation & Governance:

  • Maintain IT documentation (SOPs, network diagrams, configurations)
  • Implement IT policies, standards, and best practices
  • Ensure audit readiness and compliance

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience in network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Expertise in firewall configuration and network security
  • Experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers
  • Knowledge of backup solutions, disaster recovery, and monitoring tools
  • Proven experience in IT project delivery and vendor coordination
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Professional certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft, etc.) are an added advantage
  • Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools
