We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, body fluids, etc.) following standard protocols.
- Perform routine laboratory tests in areas such as Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, and Serology under the supervision of a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring they are clean and properly calibrated.
- Prepare reagents, stains, and culture media as required.
- Assist in running quality control checks and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
- Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste and adherence to infection control standards.
- Support the laboratory team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Deliver test results promptly to the appropriate clinicians.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology/ Science from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program completed (where applicable).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in a medical laboratory or hospital.
Requirements & Skills:
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Good practical knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of laboratory information systems.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical laboratory practice.
