We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Auto Electrician

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Diagnostics & Repairs:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in vehicles and mobile equipment such as trucks, forklifts, cranes, buses, and plant machinery.
  • Maintain and repair starting, charging, ignition, and lighting systems.
  • Test, repair, and replace wiring looms, switches, relays, sensors, and control units.
  • Carry out battery testing, installation, and maintenance.

Electronic Systems:

  • Diagnose faults in electronic systems including ECUs, PLC-based controls, alarms, tracking systems, and onboard monitoring systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools, scanners, and multimeters to identify faults.
  • Install and maintain electronic accessories (e.g. cameras, GPS, speed limiters, safety devices).

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on auto-electrical systems.
  • Ensure electrical systems operate within manufacturer specifications.
  • Identify potential faults early to minimize breakdowns and downtime.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Comply with company HSE policies, procedures, and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Ensure all electrical work is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Report electrical hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping in work areas.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Complete maintenance reports, job cards, and fault logs accurately.
  • Maintain records of repairs, parts usage, and test results.
  • Support audits and inspections with relevant maintenance documentation.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with mechanics, plant operators, and supervisors to resolve equipment issues.
  • Support commissioning and testing of new vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior technicians or apprentices when required

Qualifications & Experience
Education:

  • Trade Test Certificate, OND, or Technical Certificate in Auto Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as an Auto Electrician.
  • Experience working with heavy-duty vehicles or plant equipment is an advantage
